Yet More A1 Boards

After more discussion and redesigns, it was clear the backgrounds on previous designs were too intricate and distracted from the student's work.

The new design has almost gone full circle and arrived back at a similar point to the first design I proposed. There have been alterations and it has been improved to a point. The background has coloured gradients to try and keep with the retro theme. We, as the graphics team, feel that the backgrounds are still distracting.

After changing the background design from one large image to a few smaller ones, we are happier with the background being less distracting, but having some form of design element. Here is an example of a complete board with the most recent and hopefully final design.

I will show this final design to the graphics team on Wednesday and have them give their opinions and do proof-reading etc so we have one board ready for a test print with the company the exhibition team has lined up as soon as we can.

  1. Hi Alex,

Please try to sort the final design for the boards before leaving on holidays. In this way you will have more time to work in your personal branding of which I haven't seen a lot in your blog. I appreciate your commitment with the graphics team but you should not forget about yourself. I hope the comments and suggestions of last week's class were considered and used in the new design. I really hope that you make use of such a rich source of icons from the 80's. The use of these will increase the visual value of your boards without being overwhelming and distracting the reader from your work and the information provided in them.

    See you tomorrow,
    Mariana.
